About S:iiiL

Synaesthesia: inquisitive, integrated, immersive Learning (or S:iiiL, pronounced like seal) classes are designed to take university level skills and concepts, while leaving behind the testing and risk of failure to make them accessible and interesting to more people. Classes are by appointment and taught online via the S:iiiL Discord server. Visit siiil.org or email joseph@siiil.org if you’d like to organise your own class or tutoring.

About Joe
Joe is S:iiiL's educator and lead curriculum designer, and a teaching fellow at the University of Otago. He is dyslexic (but hopefully you can’t tell) and until tertiary study he was home educated.

He has a passion for creative writing, especially science fiction, fantasy and weird stories. His work has been published in the journal Brief. This passion for writing led him down a decade-long rabbit hole of studying at the University of Auckland and the University of Otago, where he earned degrees in writing, psychology, neuroscience, and computer science. He has been working for over six years in research and teaching positions, specialising in creative writing, artificial intelligence and biological modelling.

His hope is to provide the resources, support and mentorship that he would have benefitted from.

This event is organised by Auckland Explorers for NZAGC members nationwide.

S:iiiL are kindly offering this course to NZAGC at a significant discount!

The cost is $40 for the full five week course (that's only $8/session)!

Numbers are limited to ensure the session is relaxed, social and highly interactive. Please register today using the attached form.
